Working on a fireplace screen for the old mantle. I like the skulls. I like the wrought iron look. I like the fire & ice lighting (more impressive in person/video). I like the vines. I always like the look of rogue vines indoors where they shouldn't be. This particular mantle is mounted on the wall but doesn't have a fireplace. The trick to make the wall look like a working fireplace. I'd like something opaque behind the screen and the lighting behind the opaque piece to project the shadow/hint of a hand or face. The trick is to find something opaque to use that isn't cheesy or bank-breaking. Still on the hunt but in the mean time this works...
Art in the Park this year had a great booth with crazy treasures made with kitchen doo-dads. This pair of glasses that look as awesome on me as they do on the skull is made from egg beaters, salt/pepper shakers, and an adjustable car antenna. If the antenna is pulled out to its full length I cannot walk through doorways. They also made fabulous head bands with meat cleavers, cork screws, bats, knives, etc. Trouble is I've lost their card. I will keep looking...
It always makes me wonder when people say, "I saw this and thought of you." I do have a Halloween obsession. True. I do have a tendency to look at things differently than some of my friends. True. My friends go on walks and find the unusual/unwanted and haul those unusual/unwanted items home as gifts for me. I have a unique collection of bones, skulls, etc that is growing because of my friendships. I always wonder at how often I'm thought of. I am loved...
Well, it's not really jawbone of an ass but that is the term that popped into my mind when I filled this old milkshake bucket with deer jawbones. Nope, not a hunter but I do gather the strangest things when I go for walks.
I don't know about anyone else but he has inspired me for years. His vision, his craftsmanship, his dedication, his imagination, his creativity, his humor, his integrity, and his lovely Bean........thank you for all you've given the world of orange and black. Thank you....
Part of the reason Halloween fascinates me is the unexpected. Nothing more fun than a double take. I found eyeball flowers on Pinterest. This would be my vision.........
I'm always thinking about potions, potion bottles, where, what......
I found some bottle labels on Etsy that I like a lot. As I was searching the Bedlam Supply Co. page I found a couple of bottles that she's made using her labels. I bought the Cthulhu bottle. The little charm appeals to the girl in me. You never know if the item is as good as your mind thinks. These are. I'm very excited about working with the labels I bought. It was a good find.
