Last year...
Last year photos. This year won't look much different. These two sentinels on either side of the front door give me that..."ahhhh" feeling. I like them. I like that they are at least 9 foot tall. I like the dead sagebrush arms lifted high above their heads. I like the flicker lighting in the pumpkin heads. I like that they look either out to the street or down at the doormat. And, yes, I did get on my knees and look up to get the angle of the head perfect for knee high tall TOTs. I just like them....ahhhhhh...

Great Pumpkin Project
I am so excited about this project. It started last year and I hope it grows each year. Last year I couldn't participate but I've been casing out locations all year long. I'm shooting for all 31 days............

Spring planting...
A few years ago I broke up a couple of skulls, stuck them in pots, and planted plants. It wasn't quite the look I was going for but I left them outside and I keep adding plants each spring. I had forgotten that I stuck a solar light in one of my pots. I took the trash out after dark and here's what I found. I like it. I like it at night, in the dark....

Ok, my witches, it's all about the ride...
I found this on Pinterest and Facebook. I tried to find the original post and found this:
You don't need to be a freegan to think this is a fantastic deal, but someone on craigslist posted thisadvertisment for a free used witch broom in New Hamshire. Ad text follows:

FREE, the perfect ride for your mother in law or for some of you-your wife. I have only one available and cannot hold. This will be a first come-first serve basis. Great gas mileage, very little use, was parked most of the year under cover and only taken out in the cool month of October. Does not burn oil or leak fluids. No dents or even road blasting, everything works as it should, divorce forces placement. My loss is your gain! Happy halloween!

Worth it for the ad alone.......

Screening...
Working on a fireplace screen for the old mantle. I like the skulls. I like the wrought iron look. I like the fire & ice lighting (more impressive in person/video). I like the vines. I always like the look of rogue vines indoors where they shouldn't be. This particular mantle is mounted on the wall but doesn't have a fireplace. The trick to make the wall look like a working fireplace. I'd like something opaque behind the screen and the lighting behind the opaque piece to project the shadow/hint of a hand or face. The trick is to find something opaque to use that isn't cheesy or bank-breaking. Still on the hunt but in the mean time this works...
